Alibaba Cloud, the digital technology and intelligence backbone of Alibaba Group, is due to open its first data centre in the Philippines by the end of 2021 further expanding its footprint in Asia.
The new availability zone will be constructed in the capital, Manila. The company intends to support 50,000 local information technology professionals and help 5,000 Philippine businesses in their digital transformation journey by 2023 according to Allen Guo, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence Country Manager.
Alibaba’s currently has 75 data centres spread across 25 regions worldwide.
