Sri Lankan telco, Dialog Axiata, has opened a new data centre in Piliyandala outside the city of Colombo. The facility will offer cloud and colocation services to both enterprise and public sector customers.
Dialog Axiata (previously known as MTN Networks and later Dialog Telekom) is one of Sri Lanka’s largest telco firms, the company is a subsidiary of Malaysian telco firm Axiata Group Berhad. In 2018 the company formed a joint venture with Orion City to build and run a 200-rack facility in the Orion City IT Park in Colombo. Launched in 2017, the company’s Malabe data centre was the first Tier III certified facility in Sri Lanka.
