The facility will be based in Geraldton and aims to be carbon neutral with wind and solar power and the possibility of an on-site hydrogen battery. DUG’s immersion cooling system will further reduce the environmental impact of the site. Construction is planned for Q3 2021 with the Stage 1 data hall due to be signed off in the first half of 2022.
The initial $5 million AUD ($3.8 million USD) will come from the company’s own cash reserves.
