Iron Mountain expands its EMEA footprint

Iron Mountain has announced construction of a new 27MW data centre in Slough as well as expanding capacity at its existing London facility.

The new facility, LON-2, is on the Slough Trading Estate. The three storey, 25,000 sq m facility will provide 27MW of IT power. The IT load will be distributed across three data hall floors of 9MW each including N+2 redundancy. The facility will run on 100% renewable power, certified by Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM).

Iron Mountain will also enlarge its existing LON-1 facility, which was originally acquired from Credit Suisse in 2017. Capacity at the site will be increased by 4MW with the addition of two individual 2MW data halls, for a total of 9.1MW once complete.

Iron Mountain’s global portfolio consists of 15 operational facilities across 13 markets and three continents with a total capacity of 445MW IT power.
