NTT’s Global Data Centers Americas division has announced the development of its seventh data centre campus in Phoenix, Arizona. The 240MW capacity site will cover 1.5 million sq ft and have a dedicated on site substation.
The campus will house seven facilities with data centre cores and shells built to LEED specifications. The first data centre will offer 36MW across six 6MW vaults and 126,000 sq ft of technical space, suitable for deployments of all sizes. NTT said the design will “conserve energy and reduce water usage at each of the data centres”. Renewable energy options will also be available for clients looking to further decrease their environmental impact.
The news follows a number of US-based developments from NTT this year, including facilities in Chicago, Hillsboro and Santa Clara. Due to open early 2022, Arizona will be the fourth US market for NTT with the new campus located in Mesa, east of Phoenix.
Popular with data centre developers, NTT said the city has “more than 1,000 acres of shovel-ready property, a streamlined entitlement process, and a competitive Foreign Trade Zone”.
