Thésée DataCenter, the French colocation provider, has gained Uptime Institute Tier IV certification for its facility in Aubergenville, 40 km northwest of Paris,
The TDC01 facility has 6,000 square meters (64,500 square feet) gross internal area. Christophe Bouniol, president of Thésée, explained that six buildings are ultimately planned for the three-hectare site, totalling more that 30,000 square meters of technical space. The company plans to construct a new building every 18 to 20 months, with the total investment in the site estimated to reach $119 million.TDC01 is built to be energy efficient employing free indirect cooling and adiabatic process to reduce energy consumption.
Thésée’s backers include Groupe IDEC Invest, the real estate investment arm of French engineering firm Groupe IDEC, and Banque des Territoires.
Customers will begin moving in from August 2021, with French hosting company SAFEO being one of the first.
