DigitalBridge has announced the expansion of its Vantage SDC (Stabilized Data Centers) portfolio through the acquisition of the CA22 hyperscale facility located in Santa Clara, California.
The 24MW facility is located in Vantage Data Center’s CA2 campus and adjacent to Vantage SDC’s owned CA21 facility. Fully developed, the nine-acre (3.6 hectare) campus will house three buildings with 500,000 sq ft of data centre space and 69MW of capacity. The acquisition is valued at $539 million and will be funded through Vantage SDC debt facilities and cash on hand.
Vantage Data Centers formed Vantage SDC with DigitalBridge (formerly Colony Capital) in July 2020. The $3.5 billion partnership was set up to hold Vantage’s ‘stabilised’ data centres – ones that are fully constructed and with a high and stable tenancy rate that can cover its debt and other costs – with an initial portfolio of 12 facilities across the US and Canada.
This transaction expands Vantage SDC’s portfolio to 13 stabilised data centres across North America and increases its capacity by 14% to 177MW. Vantage Data Centers continues to manage and operate these facilities. CA22 is Vantage SDC’s largest acquisition to date.
