3S Data Center

Overview

The 3S Group designs and introduces ICT solutions. It focuses on network projects, cloud compute, communications and technologies supporting data centres. Company were founded in 2002. Currently the group consists of 3S S.A. (previously TKP SA) which builds and provides fibre-optic infrastructure and telecommunications services, and 3S Data Center S.A which to date owns 6 facilities across 5 locations in Poland totaling to approximately 4800sqm of gross space. Up until 2015 3S Data Center were called 3Services Faktory. 3Services Faktory were established in 2010 to build their own data centre.

In 2015, the private equity fund called Polish Enterprise Fund VII, managed by Enterprise Investors, bought back all shares belonging to PCC SE and some founders shares who decided to retain a minority stake.

In 2016, the 3S Group acquired 3S BOX SA which then built their own data centre in Warsaw.

In 2017, 3S purchased 50% of shares in itWORKS from Euvic Group which helped 3S Data Center to strengthen its competence in data centres.

In 2019 Q3, largest telecommunications company in Poland P4 became the new owner of 3S.

In January 2020, 3S SA and 3S Fibertech Sp. z o. o. merged.

In December 2022, 3S announced plans to merge with parent company's Iliad's Play and UPC units in the country. Owned by Iliad, P4 is the operator of the Play mobile network in Poland. Launched in 2007, Play provides mobile telephony, messaging, data, and video services to individual customers and businesses. UPC is Iliad's telecommunications operation in Poland.

In April 2023, 3S Group joined in establishing the Polish Data Centre Association together with Atman, DATA4, Beyond.pl and Equinix.
