Overview
Atos is one of the European leaders in in colocation and cybersecurity. It has operations in 71 countries globally and has expertise in finance, healthcare, telecommunications, manufacturing and public sector defence.
Atos was originally founded in 1997 after the merger of two French companies, Axime and Sligos, after which time it proceded to make several strategic acqusitions including KPMG Consulting. Then in 2010 Atos Origin acquired Siemens IT, with the latter taking a 15% stake in the company. A year later it became Atos.
Other signifcant developments include their 2014 announcement that they were acquiring Xerox and the 2018 announcement that they were partnering with Google Cloud to continue the secure development of AI technologies.
