Digital Realty’s Interxion has expanded its platform in France with the opening of third data centre hub in the Paris region. Located less than 30km east of Paris in Ferrières-en-Brie, the new PAR12 facility will provide up to 12MW of IT load capacity and more than 690 sq m of colocation space across eight data halls.
The new site is Interxion’s first hub to the east of the city and will enable its customers located in its northern and southern campuses to house disaster recovery backup data.
“This new strategic location meets the strong demand from content and cloud providers, who are interested in a third hub in the Paris region,” said Fabrice Coquio, Managing Director of Interxion France.
Interxion is also currently building out its hyperscale campus, the Interxion Paris Digital Park, which will house four facilities with a combined capacity of 85MW and serve as the landing point for CrossLake’s new cross channel fibre route.
The company is also growing outside France with new sites in Denmark, Belgium and the UK all being launched in the last 12 months.
