Experience and specialist knowledge in the data centre sector

Ed has extensive specialist experience within the data centre industry. He worked for CBRE, providing real estate consultancy services within the data centre solutions team. Then he struck out on his own, becoming an independent consultant focused on site selection, market intelligence, business case reviews and commercial property advice.

Ed is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He has master's degrees in property valuation and law from Cass Business School and theology from Cambridge University.

Alan has a wealth of real estate experience He joined Richard Ellis, the largest commercial real estate services company in the world, in 1971, becoming a Partner in 1984. He was elected as UK Managing Partner in 1995 and was appointed to the main board of NYSE-quoted Insignia Financial Group in 2001. He served as Chief Executive of the EMEA region, as a member of the global executive board and as a member of the strategic planning committee until 2005.

Since 2006, Alan has practiced as Touchstone Advisers, providing high-level strategic consultancy services.

Will is an experienced data centre professional with strong technical knowledge. After completing a degree in real estate, he joined Volta Data Centres as part of the commercial team, where he oversaw sales and marketing.

In 2014, he joined Colliers International, establishing a new data centre advisory team across the EMEA region, which later expanded to support the business globally. He went on to become its Head of Data Centres, before joining us in 2020.

James has been involved in APAC’s data centre industry for nearly a decade; having run Data Centre World (DCW) in Singapore as well as launching DCW Hong Kong, considered to be one of North Asia’s most influential data centre platforms.

Prior to joining the DC Byte team, he was the Sales Director at SpaceDC working with several global hyperscalers to develop solutions across the APAC region.

James holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in business and economics from Trinity College Dublin, a master’s degree in management consultancy from University College Dublin; and an additional master’s degree in Asian business, awarded by University College Cork in conjunction with Nanyang Technological University.

Mike is a serial entrepreneur and pioneer with over 30 years’ experience in the telecoms and technology sectors.

As the former CEO of Telecity, Mike built the business from £6m market cap to a £2.6bn business. He now holds multiple NED and Chairman roles with progressive businesses in the data centre and technology industries.

He has been recognised with a raft of industry awards over the years including: ‘Datacentre and Cloud Influencer of the Decade’ (Broadgroup); one of the ‘Top 25 Power Individuals of Industry’(Smith & Williamson); ‘UK IT Services Entrepreneur of the Year’(Ernst & Young); as well as receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award for ‘services to the data centre industry’ (Data Centre Europe Awards). In 2014, he was honoured with the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for Services to the Digital Economy.

Guy has many years experience in the data centre industry. Having co-founded IXEurope in 1998, which he subsequently sold to Equinix; in 2011 Guy went on to set up IXcellerate the leading data centre operator in Russia, followed by IXAfrica in 2019, to focus on African hypercloud projects.

In 2010, Guy founded the International Data Centre Group (IDC-G), an alliance of emerging market data centre operators.

Prior to being sold to Permira in February 2015, Guy was an NED of Teraco Data Environments, a South African based data centre. He currently holds an NED role at Lamda Hellix in Athens.

Guy graduated in 1986 from Oxford Brookes University with a BSc in Engineering.

Luca is currently Senior VP of Global Programs at the Uptime Institute, one of the leading authorities in the data centre sector, as well as holding a number of NED roles in various technology companies.

He has been at the forefront of developments in the industry for many years. At SUPERNAP, he successfully launched the first switch data centre built outside the US. Prior to that Luca was Managing Director of Telecity Group Italy which subsequently became Equinix Italia.

In 2015 Luca co-founded the Open Hub Med (OHM), the first neutral internet hub in the Mediterranean basin.

Richard brings financial and broad industry experience to our management team. He qualified with Ernst & Young in 1984, then co-founded FD Solutions in the early 1990’s The business grew into the leading provider of flexible director services in the UK.

Richard is a board member of the Bio Industry Association Finance and Taxation Committee, is a regular presenter on entrepreneurship, and is Vice-chairman of PraxisUnico (the educational, not-for-profit organisation).

Greg is a tech entrepreneur with over 30 years of sales, operational and management expertise. He’s held numerous senior executive and board-level roles.

He was an early team member of EMC and, as the Founder of Bi-Tech Solutions, negotiated a successful exit in 2002. Greg became CEO of Global Switch in 2007 and was then appointed IBM Director of Sales in 2008. Today he is an active investor in multiple start-ups.

Louise has extensive technical knowledge of mission-critical environments, as well as an in-depth understanding of the data centre industry. She’s worked for major global operators such as Zenium, Sentrum, Global Switch, Telehouse and disaster recovery specialists SunGard. She was one of the founding investors in Zenium, as well as its Global Sales Director. The company was sold to CyrusOne in 2018 for $440m.

Suzie is a specialist in business-to-business marketing with considerable experience in the technology and technical real estate sectors. In particular, she has an in-depth understanding of the complexities of marketing mission-critical environments having devised and managed global programmes for several of the leading operators including Zenium, Sentrum, Optimum Data Centres, Digital Realty and Global Switch.

Rupert has a real estate background having previously worked as a chartered surveyor at GL Hearn, one of the leading UK consultancies serving both private and public sector clients.

He has experience in development management across a range of asset classes including market research, appraisals, feasibility studies and development option modelling.

Rupert is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and also holds a BSc (Hons) and MSc in Real Estate from Oxford Brookes University.

Tim brings on board over eight years' experience in the data centre and real estate industries. He is responsible for bespoke consultancy work assisting data centre operators and investor clients in their market entry and investment research and strategy across APAC.

Prior to joining DC Byte, Tim was involved in investment and portfolio management at Digital Realty. Tim has also worked with leading global real estate fund manager AEW Capital Management,

Tim holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the National University of Singapore and a Master's degree in Real Estate Finance & Investment from Cornell University in the USA. He is fluent in English and Mandarin.

Tim is based in Singapore and specialises in APAC’s Tier 1 markets.

Xena focuses on the Asian, Middle Eastern and French-speaking markets of Europe. Before joining us, she worked in private equity fund management in the UK and client relationship management in the UAE. Xena graduated with degrees in economics, finance and business in Australia.

Christian’s primary focus is on the DACH (Germany, Austria & Switzerland) region in Europe, as well as Africa. He speaks four languages (German, French, English and Lingala), which allows him to work at detailed levels across various key markets. Christian has a BA in Business Management, as well as many years of experience in research and analysis.

Jenna’s primary focus is the Asia-Pacific region. Before joining us, she worked in various data analyst roles. Jenna graduated with honours from Nottingham Trent University in international business SW. She’s fluent in Gujarati and Mandarin.

Jovita’s background is in real estate. She holds a master’s degree in accounting and a bachelor’s degree in international business from the University of Huddersfield. Jovita is fluent in Lithuanian and Russian.

Based in Mexico City, Rodrigo's primary focus is the LATAM region comprising: North America, Central America, the Caribbean and South America.

Rodrigo is an experienced analyst; fluent in Spanish, Portuguese and English. He also holds a degree in International Business & Administration.

As part of DC Byte's US team, Lilli will be looking after the prolific Virginia area.

Lilli has extensive report writing, research and analysis experience both in the data centre and beyond.

She was born and raised in Washington DC and is located a short distance from the data centre capital of the United States in Ashburn, Virginia.

Jingwen joined DC Byte in November 2021 as a fresh graduate, graduating from the National University of Singapore with a degree in sociology. Jingwen is multilingual speaking English, Japanese, Korean and Mandarin.

Based in Singapore, Jingwen primarily focuses on the Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan markets.

Vivian holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the National University of Singapore and is bilingual in Mandarin and English.

Based in our Singapore office, Vivian is responsible for the Southeast Asian markets of Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand – as well as several Chinese submarkets.

Vivian has a Certification in Data Center Practitioner (Part 1): Data Center Design Awareness by DCPro.

Prior to joining DC Byte's APAC team, Teresa worked for several local government agencies in Singapore. She holds a masters degree in research psychology awarded by the National University of Singapore.

Teresa main focus is the Australian, New Zealand and Singaporean data centre markets. She has had much on-the-ground experience in touring the flagship facilities in her markets, visiting over 500MW of capacity across the various data centres. With certification from DCPro’s Data Centre Design Awareness course, she has a keen interest in understanding the industry’s priorities towards sustainability at various operational levels.

Ivan has a wealth of experience in the technology sector having worked on range of applications over the last ten years.

He is also an experienced lecturer and conference speaker.

Rosen holds a degree in programming languages, including C# and Javascript, from the University of Sofia. He is multilingual, speaking Bulgarian, English and Russian.

Rosen is primarily responsible for the development of new features on the DC Byte platform.

Kalin focuses primarily on the UX / UI of the DC Byte platform and also oversees all of the development processes.

Kalin has a Bachelor's degree in psychology and is fluent in Bulgarian and English.

Aleksander holds a Master of Law degree from the University of National & World Economy in Sofia and has legal experience in corporate and banking law.

In the technology sector, Aleksander has held various Project Manager roles.

At DC Byte, he is a Project Manager primarily responsible for the organisation and optimisation of work processes for the development team.

Tetiana has a Masters degree in Quality Engineering and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence, both gained at the Kharkov National University of Radio Electronics. She is fluent in English, Bulgarian, Ukrainian and Russian.

Tetiana is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the quality of the DC Byte platform through both manual and automated testing.
